OUR TEAM

Meet the WGAC Team

It takes a special crew to bring the WGAC to life. These people strive tirelessly to bring you the best experience in glider aerobatics.

Thomas von Larcher

Contest Director

After years of soaring through the skies in glider aerobatics, Thomas has assumed the role of contest director for the 2024 championship, aiming to deliver an unparalleled and independent contest organization. With a calm yet authoritative voice, his words leave a lasting impact. Having successfully led numerous national championships, Thomas stands out as the linchpin holding together all elements of the event.

Roland Marsch

Deputy Contest Director

As the president of Fliegerclub Oschatz e.V., Roland cast the first stone to bring the Glider Aerobatic World Championship back to Germany after over 30 years. He is the driving force behind all activities, pursuing his and our plans with full enthusiasm. Not only as a glider aerobatics pilot but also as the club president, he helps strengthen and expand the sport in any reasonable way. Without Roland, there would be neither this website nor the anticipation and celebration of such a magnificent international event in Oschatz!

Stephanie Koechel

Office Manager and Athlete Services

During the German Championship 2022, we managed to captivate Stephi’s interest in Office Management. Instantly hooked, she immersed herself in the glider aerobatics community, even without being a pilot herself. Stephi is the go-to person, always available during the contest. Currently, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the social, communications, media, and branding aspects of the WGAC. Stephi resides in Germany with her partner, enjoying the opportunity to adventure between national and international events.
